So…I had a pretty sucky Christmas. Very boring…

I didn’t get presents from my parents but my sister did recieve 2 books. My mom felt bad because I gave her something and didn’t have anything for me.
I avoided all the posts that were featuring Christmas dinner, gifts, etc, because I knew it’ll just make it worse, so sorry if i didn’t comment!

![]()
But here’s some things that are more joyful:
![]()
![]()
Colourful Raita Spinach Salad
Christmas colours: Tomatoes + Olives + Spinach + Raita dip
Love to use dip as salad dressing…x)
![]()
![]()
Tuna-Carrot-Onion Sandwich
Waiting for the other slice of bread to toast…

I heard a lot about Kashi Heart to Heart.

But if you are, like me, a sad poor little Canadian that doesn’t have access to it…
Kellogg’s Guardian

They have the same shape! Cute…I love heart-shaped cereals.
Plus, you have the extra Maple flavor!
Ok, and the added refined sugar and blablabla…but it taste good so period.
Apple Maple Yogurt Mess
Oh, how could I forgot?!
Let’s add a pinch of cinnamon…
That’s better!

At least, I *almost* finished my big science project on the ‘Environment Issues’. Like I said, I chose a subject that not a lot of people know:
Meat production and consumption
It might be well known to you, since a lot of you are vegan/vegetarian/health nuts, but for most people, it’s not as obvious as deforestation, global warming, boring stuff like that.
![]()
![]()
Here’s my work:
Recto
‘SuperTofu saves the world!’
![]()
Verso
‘SuperTofu is…’
![]()
![]()
Now…it may look like it’s an ordinary sign, but it’s not:
*Suspence*
Oh! There’s some hidden informations!
‘Meat production can cause blablabla…’
![]()
More secret informations!
‘SuperTofu is…the coworker of Water!’
‘About 40% of the population needs water, blablabla…’
![]()
![]()
I don’t even want to tell you how much time I spend on this stuff.
Okay, I’ll tell you:
-
Drawing/Cutting the images: 6 hours
-
Writing the informations: 2 hours
-
Sticking the images to the sign: 1 hour 30min
-
And I didn’t count the time for researches, self-evaluations, make a survey…
I know I’m too perfectionist, but I like to give to the teacher a good work. I don’t like being lazy…after all, you get what you give. That’s what my mom always tells me.
I had the choice of making a sign, an article, a flyer…My teacher warned me that she is very strict on a sign, because ‘it’s to easy and not a lot of work’.
Well, I think I have news for her…xD

”You’ll get fat!”
December 22, 2009 at 7:12 pm | In Uncategorized | 16 CommentsTags: Almonds, breakfast, Cranberries, drawings, dried fruits, nuts, oat bran, oatmeal, pumpkin, recipes, Tea
I had, like, the weirdest thing that could happen to a 15 yo girl on a Monday.
I went to send my package for Eliza, Maya and another girl (not going to say her name because I want it to be a surprise! How cute am I??? xD) and then went to the supermarket.
I was in the Frozen Dessert aisle (don’t ask why, I know we’re in December). I spotted a ‘Cappuccino Swirl’ frozen yogurt (sounds nice, huh?) on sale. Then, there was 2 men, saying:
-‘Yup, that’s one cute girl…
-Yeah, really beautiful.
-Be careful though, girl, it’ll make you gain weight!
I didn’t know what to do so I panicked and ran.

Ok no, I just smiled and left as quickly as possible, but didn’t ran, lol. I don’t like talking to strangers, especially if they’re 35 year old pervs.

10 min later, I met them again. (Why???? That was a big supermarket!!) The guy said to me:
-’Watch out, girl, you’ll get fat!’
Duh?!
So weird…
I told this to my mom later and she was like:
-‘How old were they?? Did they say anything else?? Are they pervs?? What’s their fucking problem?? Don’t ever talk to them again!!! Did you talk to them?! I hope not! Did you??? DID YOU?!!? And why did they say you were pretty?! Did you approach them??!’
Hum, no mom, I didn’t turn into a prostitute in a space of 2 seconds…
I think…
I could be on the Playboy calendar…huhuhu.
Anyway. I don’t get why they said this. Maybe they are dangerous perverts that are searched by the police????

Ok, maybe not
People can be really impolite…but I bought my frozen yogurt anyway. After all, it was 3.99$ for a big 2L (and it was CAPPUCCINO flavour!)
But I’m still wondering when I’ll have the opportunity to eat it, lol. It’s freaking cold! O_O

First time using tea for cooking my oatmeal! Loved it!
I usually only drink green tea/ginger tea because I hate flavored tea…but in oatmeal, it’s so versatile and original.

Oh, and I added pumpkin to the ‘Christmas’ Oatmeal…
Sabrina suggested pistachios instead of almonds, for more Christmas colours!

I’ll be posting about cookies, so stay tuned

Hello hello!

I’m boooooored…Entertain me!

Awww It’s Holidays…but we don’t have anything planned. Christmas isn’t so important in chinese culture, I guess. But I still have something ‘Christmas’ themed for breakfast:
First time having CAROB chips! I love it, it’s different than chocolate chips, but in a good way. It has a coffee taste to it…I think? Anyway, it’s bitter.
I went crazy with carob chips:
‘Pumpkin Carob chips’ Oatmeal
It gets all melty

At this rate, I’ll finish this bag of carob chips in no time.

I did half a batch of Sophia’s Black Sesame Soup recipe as a surprise for my mom! She’s the only one in the family who loves this stuff.

Rant Rant Rant!
Warning to those who hate childish subject…x)
Last week, at school, we had an English project, which was to do a skit based on a sitcom idea. Of course, that means TEAMWORK.
I. Ended. Up. Doing. All. The. Fucking. Work.
While they were talking about their boyfriend/future boyfriend and their boyfriend’s girlfriend or whatever.
I still can’t believe that I was typing the text while they were taking PICTURES with an Iphone.
This girl, A, even has the nerve to ask me:
-’So, are you done?’
My reply:
-‘WHAT did you just say? WHAT the hell did you just say???!!!!
-…
-’I’VE BEEN WORKING ON THIS SHIT FOR HOURS WHILE YOU GUYS ARE DOING NOTHING, EXCEPT TAKING PICTURES WITH YOUR IPHONE, SO SHUT THE HELL UP!!!’
She apologized and said it was just a joke. Yeah…like I will believe it.
Anyway, I went to my teacher and told her everything. She said she saw it and it was obvious they were doing nothing. But still…even if she recognized it, I’m still the one who spend days and nights, trying to find an idea, typing the text, correcting the mistakes…I was so exhausted, I broke up in tears in front of my teacher :/
Yes, I got an A, while they got either a B or B+. But still, B+ is a good grade. And if it wasn’t for me, they wouldn’t even got a D. Other people in the class, who really worked hard, also got a B/B+. It’s not fair.
Oh well. Next time I’ll take the girl’s Iphone and smash it on the floor. Believe me, I can do it.
Don’t mess with Vanilla. She’s only 4′11”, but she can be dangerous.

So back to my question on the:
‘Spicy Pumpkin’ Oatmeal
What the heck are those red things????
You guys were all saying:
- Cranberries
- Peppers
- Chillis
So…which one is right???
=> NONE!

It’s Dried cherry Tomatoes!
Just dried cherry tomatoes that are sweetened. Taste like candy.
I brought it back from China. I only have a tiny bit left…:(
Okay, I wasn’t fair, I used the word ‘Spicy’ simply because I used a lot of spices in that oatmeal. Ginger, Cinnamon…I didn’t thought it would confuse you guys :p

4 days till Christmas!
Our car is in a garage, so we can’t go shopping *gasp*…!
We are stuck in the house.
I have nothing to do, except this science project…Argh it’s like God is telling me:
-’The car isn’t dead for nothing…You must finish this science project!’
*Sigh*
I always have the feeling that nothing happens for nothing, you know? I’m silly x)
Maybe I’ll show you my science project once it’ll be finish. It’s about environmental issues. I choose meat production/consumption and the impact it has on the environnment. Much more original than global warming or deforestation!

Picky Pizza

Hi guys!
I had a nice time with my friends. We went ice skating for about 1h30 before we my friend L got sick of it. Little toddlers were making fun of her because she…herm…doesn’t skate really well. ^_^ So she wanted to go shopping instead.
Omg, going shopping with her is suicidal. I don’t how someone can shop this long and hesitate this long about whether or not buy a pair of boots (when she already has like 5 pairs). We left when the mall closed and my legs were litterally dead, lol.
Shopping = The cure of every sad feelings

Thanks for the uplifting comments on my last post. Personnally, I know that the judge is going to be on their side, but a tiny part of me is still holding a little bit of…hope. You know, the kind of hope that you know won’t happen? Like when you buy lottery and know you have a better chance to be killed by thunder but buy it anyway?
Anyaway, a reader told me something I just realized: Throughout this ”blogging” journey, I really have made bonds. I glad my mom and I are talking more and more.
Right now, the only thing that’s connecting ED with me is those doctors. I want this to end.
I can only imagine what it’s gonna be if they weren’t here. I can’t focus on school because the whole situation is so frustrating, so unfair. I had a really hard time after the court (at home, at shcool, with my friends, alone…). I’m really scared of what’s going to happen.
On the bright side, my mom seems to get better. She started cooking again, yeah! When she wasn’t cooking, we ate pizzas and the family is getting sick of it. I must say, we don’t have good pizzerias around here. I missed her meals
Example of one of the Pizza
Ok…this is not pizza in my book.
Why?
Because for me, a pizza must have
-
a fluffy, doughy, not too heavy, at least 1 inch thick crust (this one was as flat as a pancake! BIGGEST pet peeve ever!)
-
As much veggies as cheese, or more (not tiny bits of onion…)
-
No green olives. Only black.
-
Lots of tomato sauce
But I’m not giving up.
One day, I’ll find the perfect pizzeria, that’ll match all my criterias.
I’m a fighter.
x)
How do you like your pizza??

Some dessert-y Breakfasts:
Yes, the melted banana is necessary in this recipe.
p.s: Credit goes to Katie
I saw a lot of Christians here. I’m not into religions, but I think there should be a Melted Banana Religion.

Mitri started this trend

But I must admit I prefer cottage cheese savoury…

Do you prefer cottage cheese in sweet dishes or savoury dishes???

I’m a sad Pumpkin

*Sigh*
I don’t know why this is happening to me.
I don’t know how this is happening to me.
The court was horrible. I did answered the questions well and didn’t fall into their traps when they questionned me.
Unfortunately, it’s not the case for my mom:
But that’s not her fault. She doesn’t understand french very well (okay she totally sucks with any language other than chinese) and can’t express herself clearly, ie:
The Child protection services lawyer: -’Mrs, do you care about your daughter?’
My mom: -My daughter doesn’t need the doctors intervention.
The CPS lawyer: -After hearing the mother, we can now see that the parents are not taking their responsability and letting their daughter in danger by…”
You know what I mean? I’m aware that her answer sounded like the typical ‘bad mom’ in TV shows, but I know she meant to say: ‘Leave my daughter alone, I love her and it hurts me seeing how upset she gets because of you.’
It’s not fair.
She barely understood a thing, seemed so lost and looked so stupid!
I feel so bad.
And my lawyer is an ass. She didn’t show my new health results to the judge. They were high enough to prove I’m not in danger, and that my health greatly improved. She even asked me questions that weren’t relevant and weren’t going to help me at all. My mom is pretty sure she doesn’t care about my case at all (she called me at the last minute to ask me about the situation). In fact, she’s friend with those doctors. Next time she calls, I’ll fire her.
The judge didn’t give the sentence yet. But we all know what is gonna be.
I lied to you:
I said I wouldn’t cry.
But I did.
I went to my math exam after that, and I must admit it wasn’t a good idea. I barely had time to finish my copy and almost cried in the classroom.
I know you guys didn’t understand 99% of what I said. It’s pretty complicated. Something I did in the past, something I had in the past/still have/always will, something I don’t what other to know of but that’s essential to tell if I want to prove them wrong…Okay I’ll stop, your heads are spinning.

Aside from this shit, I have a question for US/Canada shippers:
Can we have customs problems if we ship food within US/Canada??
I’ll leave you with some yummy eats. I always try to include some posivity since I know there’s some people that doesn’t read the long paragraphs and just look at the pictures…(yeah, BUSTED!)
With applesauce and almonds
With chopped apple and PB
Do you guys prefer nuts on top of your oatmeal or PB?
I think I prefer nuts…PB is better on toast
Close-up on the burned almonds (I know, I’ll never change…)

‘Triple Orange foods’ Swiss Oats
No orange flavor…
Pumpkin, Peach and Apricots…
3 orange foods, hence the name x)
Click on the title for the recipe, or just check the ‘recipe’ page
This time, I didn’t burn the almonds.
New invention!
‘What is this stuff?‘, you guys are asking.
Well, it’s hummus.
But made with black beans instead of chickpeas
I love the color.
Would’ve been perfect for Halloween.

I have tons of homework. With all the court/law/doctor thing, I think I’ll crack up soon. They just don’t get how this is affecting me negatively.
But I’m more worried about my mom. She’s so depressed and feels guilty because she didn’t do well in court. She lost a lot of weight (I won’t say numbers, but holy crap!) and has no appetite. We’ve been eating pizzas (thank Lord they have a good deal) and eating frozen meals because she doesn’t have the motivation to cook.
I must admit I’m not helping her much…I didn’t really talk to her since the court thing. I feel a little bit of anger because she really looked stupid in front of the judge…I’m going to the mall with my friends today, maybe I’ll get a gift for her or something. Any ideas?
xoxo

The judge didn’t give the sentence yet. But we all know what is gonna be.
Banana Explosion
November 30, 2009 at 8:37 am | In Uncategorized | 16 CommentsTags: Almonds, Banana, breakfast, chocolate, Cranberries, Maple, nuts, oat bran, oatmeal, recipes, vegan
Omg, I spent the whole weekend doing my homework…ugh, I hate sciences!
Needed a break, so I thought: ”Hey…how ’bout some blogging?”
I don’t have much to say…thank you for all your support towards my court appearance and everything. I won’t lie, it’s hard. Really hard. Right now, ED is not even a problem anymore. I hate how it has driven me where I am. I don’t care about it now. There’s so much more to life than this.
The whole thing is making me…nauseous? There’s like a big, heavy hand that’s squishing my heart everytime I think about those doctors. I just feel so bad…for my family, for myself. I’m supposed to live the happiest moment of my life…but instead, I just wish that I can quickly become 18, so I can make my own decisions.
Okay no more negative feelings, sorry!

*keep the positivism*

Let’s move on to more happy news and yummy eats:
I went to party-buffet Friday night and it was pretty lame. Everyone had brought something (I brought Caesar salad and Macadamia cookies…they got attacked =D), but I don’t know how, the 11th-12th graders got all wrong and ate part of our food! Aka all the desserts, brownies…Grrr, stupid kids! We were left with crudites, some boring sandwiches and Tostitos (hate those…among all the chips in the world, why do they left us the yuckiest chips???) After, since there was food left, everybody brought back a little something home, like unopened/opened bags of chips, leftover donuts…the crudites were lonely! But Vanilla rescued them! I brought back TONS of crudites…it’s a really, really big plateau (yeah the 11-12 graders didn’t touch them apparently).
Those crudites, featuring…
Meatless ‘Hamburger’
With Yves veggie ground round, ketchup, and cheesy goodness!
Some dip for the crudites

Don’t forget to support OCCK!
November is almost coming to an end!
Here’s a little tribute to her ‘Melted banana trick’…(again!)
New variation on the Melted banana oatmeal:
Maple Raisin Banana Oatmeal
Guess what happened while I was making this recipe…
I was lazy and tried to use the microwave instead of the stove…
EXPLOSION!!
BAM PATATATA POUF!
…*sigh*
I wonder how you guys do it. I’ll stick with stove top method.
